"Education costs money, but then so does ignorance." Sir Claus Moser
A significant number of students who attend Virginia State University hail from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (Washington, D.C., Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties of Maryland).
One of the primary goals of our Chapter is to provide financial support to as many area students that may be in need of financial assistance. In light of our goals our chapter, over the years, has contributed thousands of dollars to VSU in support of area students who have desired to matriculate at our beloved Alma Mater.
In 2006, the Chapter gifted the University its largest single gift in Chapter history. This amount was $12,500 and was given in honor of the University's 125th Founding. All prior years' gifts to the University have been in the amounts ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 in perpetual scholarship support. Our efforts have had and will continue to have a profound effect upon the lives of so many students and we are very proud of our accomplishments.
